i would like to let danreilly know that i do listen all of those bands, just not religiously and i know the effect that they’ve had on straight edge. and i will agree with you that most straight edge kids are a long shot from where it was back in the day. but unfortunately i grew up in the early nineties and was never exposed to true hardcore until my later years. unfortunately i am growing up in a somewhat dead and dying scene, but i promise you i’m not you’re typical twenty first century straight edge kid who is most likely going to sell out.. i know my origins and i know what straight edge truly is. 

i post on the tumblr “fuckyeahstraightedge” and i noticed that you started following that page. and as i am browsing through your posts… i notice that you really dont know (or at least talk about) many of the most influential straight edge bands that are huge influences on the bands you list you are super into (like have heart etc etc.) 

as someone who hates the current mindset that 99% of straight edge kids posses. i wanna contribute and maybe give you a little more light on bands you may not know about.
